    By: Shaylee s.

Hello my name is La Bayadere. Just kidding. My name is Shaylee and I am going to take you with me to my field trip to La Bayadere. La Bayadere is at Symphony Hall. Ib Anderson is going to be their. Ib Anderson is a danish ballet dancer, dancer, and a choreographer.

" I liked the ballet because of their costumes", said Kaisha H. The costumes that the ballet dancer's wore were very colorful. The colors of the costumes were red, dark red, brown, gold, silver, green, blue, and of course purple and pink. The costumes are made out of fabric and silk. The background was actually made out of silk and a little bit of cardboard.

The music is done by Leon Minkus. This might sound crazy but the strongest man in the world does ballet. Ballo means unicorn. Just kidding. Ballo means ballet. Before doing a ballet show the janitors clean the floor with a mix of alcohol and water.

The symphony hall has their own costume shop. The symphony hall was found in 1986. Their were like about 40 dancers in the La Bayadere show. So before I go I have one more quote for you. " I liked the show because it was very dramatic", said Steven H. So I have to go so bye.

  3. Best Field Trip Ever
    By Rees

On October 27th Ridgeline Academy's 5th graders went to see La Bayadere at Symphony Hall. We went on a red bus and we went because our school chose 5th grade. One of the dancers is Ib Anderson who is one of two men who like a woman and they fight over her. The music is written by Leon Minkus while it is played by the Phoenix Symphony.

This ballet takes place in India. The play looked very exciting. "I am excited for it because it involves very good ballet," 5th grader Steven H states. First when we got there a ballet class was going on, so we had to be quiet. When they spun it looked so weird.

Joseph Camanaw is a ballet master and also manager of Ballet Arizona came out and he is also in the show. That class that was going on was a warm-up show for the dancers in La Bayadere. Joseph was talking while the amazing props came out. We learned there are positions in ballet. First is standing feet together and 2nd is same thing as 1st, but feet separated. 3rd is not used while 4th is one heel backward both sets of toes forward and other foot backwards.

There wasn't any talking during the play. My favorite part was when the gold man came out and started dancing. To end the play a dancer was bit by a snake and she got killed by it. "My favorite part was the ending," states 5th grader Holden T. This was an amazing ballet with vibrant colors. For more information make sure to check out balletaz.org.

  4. The weirdest day of my life
    By:LUWE

Just to get it out there I didn't like this ''La bayder'' stupid thing. So when you get in this place it has these men/women dancing. Now it sounds fine, but it was disturbing. One person was doing it in his underwire, and another was so gross I could of threw up. I'm still terrified from that.

So when it starts this..... lets say.....special person lies in my face, and says ''ow I'm the best ballerina in the world du hu''. The weariest thing is that everyone believed it and I have proof. Go to http://www.smashinglists.com/top-11-prima-ballerina-assolutas/ and not a single man is on that list. He also stud there after he said he could dance. If I ever see his face again I will do something.

Overall the ''play'' was good, but it was just dancing and music, #boring. My favored part of the show is when the girl dies, because its funny, and it was over. A former 5gade student said the same part, and I'm sorry for people who disagree but her me out, 1.i beat you weren't there, 2.i beat you weren't strong enough to say this, and 3.these are facts so dell with it. End of story.

  6. Take A Seat and Enjoy The Show
    By: Michael Edwards

On October 27, 2016 Ridgeline Academy went to La Bayadere. It is a ballet about a temple dancer and a prince who are united only in death. And a princesses who has a cruel plan. We only saw a shortened version.

My favorite part of La Bayadere was when a elephant came on stage(it was a fake elephant). A prince was riding on its back. I asked Anna Edwards an 8 grader who attended the ballet what her favorite thing was about the La Bayadere. She said, "I liked the costumes the best."

La Bayadere was the first ballet I ever saw. Some of the dancer's skin was even painted. "I liked how the golden dancer could jump so high" 5 grader Rees Goodall said. La Bayadere was a phenomenal ballet.

    By: Kassia Starr

La Bayadere a is a ballet of love and tragedy. A gypsy who was picked to dance her heart away falls in love with a prince. The prince is forced to love another. The king gets rid of the gypsy by getting her bitten by a very poisonous snake. After the bite she dies.

La Bayadere took place at Symphony Hall, Thursday, October 27, 2016. When students came, they saw a ballet class in session. “The Ballet was amazing and I loved the music, it was so touching “, --Katy K. Other schools were welcome to the show too. The full show was not available yet. The choreography was by Ib(E-b) Anderson. “I liked the ballet because it was very dramatic”, --Shaylee S. We never did see a real orchestra but music was by Leon Minkus.

La Bayadere takes place in India. La Bayadere had ballerinas from Symphony Hall. They wore beautiful tutus. I think you should go see a ballet someday, so that you could enjoy it as much as I did. To learn more visit www.balletaz.org.

  8. The Symphony Hall By Holden T.

On October 27th 2016 the fifth grade classes and one seventh grade class went to the Phoenix symphony hall to see a ballet called la Bayadere. Before the play started, we got to see the dancers practice dancing for another ballet. It was a good experience because it was interesting to watch and it was also cool to see how much practice went into the play.
In the morning, the students took the bus to the Symphony Hall and then got to walk around and see the inside. I learned that the inside of the theater’s walls and base of the chairs were made of cherry wood. They were installed two years ago. The seats were comfortable like memory foam. When the lights dimmed, the play started.
La Bayadere was a play that had dancers, recorded music, costumes, and realistic props. The dancers could jump really high because the stage is hollow so they don’t break their legs when they land. I asked one of the people who worked with the ballet if it hurt the dancer’s feet when they land, and he said no because they land on the balls of their feet. There was recorded music playing by Beethoven. The costumes looked heavy but they were light and the gold and gems looked real too but they were fake. The stage area had a castle where characters sat on the porch, and it looked like a real gazebo.
The point of the play was to entertain people by spinning fast, jumping high, and adding in cool props. An example is when the Prince was completely gold and road in on a big grey elephant. Rees, my friend who went to the play, said his favorite part was when a lady was bit and killed by a snake. On the bus ride home from Symphony Hall, students were talking about how cool the ballet was. You should go to a ballet because it is a cool experience, they are fun to watch, and not many people get the chance to go to one.

    By:Jenna D.
Most people especially kids think that ballerinas (boy or girl) ware either tutus or tights and T-shirt right. Well thats not always the case. A lot of the time they ware exotic clothing like a dragon or a dragon on top of a wolf! Even though most ballerinas ware exotic cloths some do still ware tutus and tights. 5th grade student Ms. Lanes class at RidgeLine Academy Bryndal W. says "The costumes were very gorgeous!"

Some people take ballet very seriously. Others just enjoy it. If you trying to figure out what the ballet is about just watch very closely to what kind of dance they are doing. A good example is from a 5th grade student in Ms.Lanes class at RidgeLine Academy Delani D. said "The ballet was full of beautiful temple dancers, kings, princesses, and warriors." The best place to go for ballet here in Arizona is Symphony Hall. You should go check it out.

Ballet is a good way to relax and calm down. It is a very calm and soothing dance. Ballet is something you would want to experience and share. La Bayadere is a ballet I would suggest going to. Remember ballet can be taken seriously or you can enjoy it.

There are a lot of plays coming up like the Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet and more. The music is by Leon Mikus. The next the next show starts in December 9th through the 24th. The costumes are outstanding. "I like the costumes because they are hand made.", said Briann G.. I hope you have a wonderful time doing ballet.

  11. La Bayadere
    By: Delani D.

On October 29th, Ridgeline Academy's drama club and fifth graders attended the ballet “La Bayadere”. This took place at the Phoenix Symphony Hall. The choreography was done by Ib Anderson. All of the music was done by Leon Minkus.

During the ballet we saw temple dancers, warriors and kings. The ballet took place in India, so the dancers were dressed to match the Indian culture. The set was amazing. It had exquisitely painted columns to make it look like we were actually in India. The costumes were beautiful and filled with color. They allowed the dancers to dance freely. Alivia B. said, "the temple dancer with the sparkly jewels and crown was my favorite". Bryndal W. said, "the set was gorgeous and it felt like you were in India".

The dancers were graceful and very flexible. It was obvious that they must train a lot. When they twirled I could barely see them. The boys were very strong and had to lift people into awkward positions. All together they put on an amazing show. The play is definitely worth seeing if you have the time. Have you ever wanted to go to India to see a ballet? The ballet La Bayadere transports you to the Festival of Fire in India.
La Bayadere was put on by Ballet Arizona. The performance was held on the 27, 28, 29, 30th of October. It was at Symphony Hall in downtown Phoenix. A lot of time and effort made La Bayadere truly amazing. The dancers jumped incredibly high and when the dancers spun you could barely see their feet.
All the costumes were transported from the Ballet Theater of Boston. Every costume was deeply detailed with jewels and fabrics. Ridgeline student Jenna Dymond said, "The costumes were exotic." There were some amazing parts of the ballet like when the prince rode in on an elephant. Ridgeline fifth grader Delani D. said, "My favorite part was when the temple dancer was bit by the snake." La Bayadere has characters, a setting, and a plot. For more information on La Bayadere go to www. balletaz.org.

Did you guys know that ballet is all French. Also the ballet that I went to was a India ballet. They had a orchestra and it was under the stage. They also had a remote control elephant on the stage. The elephant walked across the stage
The person I interviewed was Helio Lima, the first question I asked him was how long have you had been doing ballet? He said he trained for about ten years. The second question I ask him was how old were you when you started? He said nine years old. I ask him what school did you go to and he said Western Australian Ballet Company.
Now we are on the background of the ballet. The buildings on the stage were all made with silk fabric. The ballet was a very dramatic story. So the story was about a girl getting bit by snake and refused to take the medicine so she died.

Have you ever been to a ballet? October 27th, 2016, Ridgeline Academy’s 5th grade went to La Bayadere. La Bayadere was one of the most beautiful ballets I have ever seen. Ib Andersen he did the choreography for this prodution.Ib did a phenomenal job choreographing this prodution. Leon Minkus made the sound tracks for this production. Leon also did an extrordinary job making the sound tracks.

Before the show the whole cast practiced just like you stretch or warm up before one of your games or meets. Once the session or dance class was done the host came out in this intricate costume it was beautiful and glamorous. Did you know that ballet is done all over the world but in different ways? Ballo is another word for ballet in Italian.

There was about 50 people in the production including kids. The props were outstanding there was a fake elephant, it look so real it was amazing. The ballet dancers are extremely strong especially the men. The material used for back drops was silk. There was so much detail in the pillars I thought they were real pillars. 18. So Fun
    By: Breezy

Have you ever been to Ballet Symphony Hall? Well, I went on a field trip there with my class on October 27, 2016. I learned a lot about ballet and Symphony Hall. I learned that they make all the props and costumes. That is really cool.
The ballet practice is usually 4 or 5 hours long. The practice can even be 12 hours long. Can you believe they practice for 12 hours?!? That is a long time. On one of the acts we saw an elephant (not real, sadly). During another act a girl died (not real, luckily). She got bit by a snake (not real again). One of the ballet girls said, “I wanted to become a ballet dancer since I was a kid”. Her name is Allison. She is good at ballet.
Ballet seems hard. They have to work, work, and work hard to get good. My favorite part in the ballet was when a prince came out riding the elephant. It is also cool that they make their costumes. You should check Ballet Symphony Hall out.

Ballet dancers are very graceful and pretty. I am going to be talking about the ballet. October 27-30th there was a ballet performance called La Bayadere. La Bayadere is a ballet performance that was based on a story from India. The dancers have very exotic clothing. A 5th grade student in Ms.Lanes class at Ridgeline Academy, Bryndal W. says " the costumes were gorgeous!

The story was also about a man who loved a girl, but the girl did not love him. The girl ends up marrying another man. Then the man that has always wanted her gets angry, in fact very angry. So he gives her a picnic basket that has a poisonous snake in it. He claims there is only treats in it. Then the girl gets bit! The girls husband offers an antidote to save her, but she refuses to take it, so she dies. 5th grade student Ms.Lanes class Delani D. said " the ballet was full of beautiful temple dancers, kings, princesses, and warriors."

The La Bayadere was an amazing performance. It really transports your mind to India. Ballet performances can be taken seriously or you can just enjoy it. Some people even do news stories on the ballet performance like I am. Remember you can take ballet seriously or you can enjoy it. Which would you do?

On October 27th 2016 Ridgeline Academy went to Symphony Hall. 5th grade students went to see La Bayadere a ballet. They went on a red bus with leather seats. They're Music teacher Ms. Davis picked the 5th graders to learn about music. It was a ballet at Symphony Hall.

The ballet La Bayadere takes place in India. The Chornogriphy is by: Ib Andersen. The composer is Leon Minkus. When we got into the Auditorium the dancers were in they're class. We had to be very quite so we didn't disrupt them in they're class.

Joseph Camenaw is the manager of the ballet's in Symphony Hall. My friend Rees said he like's "the part when the golden guy comes out and started dancing". My other friend Holden said he likes " the ending of La Bayadere when the girl dies". For more information go to www.balletaz.org.

Have you ever wanted to go to a ballet or even a ballet in India. If so La Bayadere is an amazing ballet. The costumes and sets are wonderful. It makes you feel like you are actually in India.

The dancers were absolutely amazing. They jumped very high and were very graceful. Delani D. said "The ballet was beautiful. It was a wonderful experience."

The costumes looked like they lived in India. Jennifer D. said "the ballet was very interesting and exotic."

The people in the ballet are full time dancers. Stever Anderson is the artistic director. The music is by Leon Mincus. They rent out the sets for other people to use. If you want to go to a ballet, you should go to La Bayadere.
